It has been determined that the Invivo MRI Vital Signs Monitor is the only monitor capable of meeting this requirement of Wright Patterson Air Force Base. This unit will be part of the Siemens MRI currently in operation. The equipment is required since the existing monitor is past its life expectancy. The customer requires a compatible vital signs monitor for their MRI room. It would monitor patients to assess stability and/or distress while out of physical contact with the staff during the imaging scan. This particular monitor is the only one approved by Siemens Medical. This is due to the stringent requirements for any system that would operate in the same environment as a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine. This monitor also has all the necessary features that the customer requires to maintain uniformity with all the procedures already established for an MRI exam. The Statuatory authority for this sole source puchase is Title 10 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) as implemented in the FAR 6.302-1(a)(2).
