- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ is seeking potential sources for an Intercommunication Systems (ICS) test set. Responses to this Request for Information (RFI) will be evaluated for applicability to Intermediate-level ship and shore-based Naval Aviation maintenance. NAVAIR is conducting only market research in connection with this RFI. The ICS Test Set would replace the AN/AIM-3(V) ICS test set with a modernized and automated support capability for intra-aircraft communications systems. The AN/AIM-3(V) ICS test sets were first fielded in the mid-1960’s and provide Fleet intermediate level maintenance personnel with the capability to operationally test and troubleshoot the individual modules commonly of the AN/AIC-14 & AN/AIC-14A Intercommunication Sets. The new test set would be required to work with all existing cable sets identified in NAVAIR Technical Manual 16-30AIM3B-1 and to replicate all tests for AN/AIC-14(V) components currently performed by the AN/AIM-3(V) test sets and as outlined in the following: •Table 7-1 of NAVAIR Technical Manual 16-30AIC14-1 •Table 7-6 of NAVAIR Technical Manual 16-30AIC14-1 •Table 7-1 of NAVAIR Technical Manual 16-30AIC14-2 The following NAVAIR technical manuals provide more detailed information on the AN/AIC-14(V) Intercommunication Sets and the AN/AIM-3(V) test sets: •NAVAIR 16-30AIC14-1 TECHNICAL MANUAL MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTION WITH ILLUSTRATED PARTS BREAKDOWN ORGANIZATIONAL AND INTERMEDIATE INTERCOMMUNICATION SET AN/AIC-14; Dated: 1 August 1988 w/change 6 – 15 August 2007 •NAVAIR 16-30AIC14-2 TECHNICAL MANUAL OPERATION AND SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS WITH ILLUSTRATED PARTS BREAKDOWN INTERCOMMUNICATION SET AN/AIC-14A; Dated: 1 September 1987 w/change 7 – 15 July 2007 •NAVAIR 16-30AIM3-1 TECHNICAL MANUAL OPERATION AND SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS WITH ILLUSTRATED PARTS BREAKDOWN TEST SET, INTERCOMMUNICATION SET AN/AIM-3A; Dated: 1 November 1961 w/change 5 – 15 April 1991 •NAVAIR 16–30AIM3–2 TECHNICAL MANUAL OPERATION AND SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS WITH ILLUSTRATED PARTS BREAKDOWN TEST SET, INTERCOMMUNICATIONS SET AN/AIM–3A; Dated: 15 October 1964 w/change 10 – 1 February 2004 •NAVAIR 16-30AIM3B-1 TECHNICAL MANUAL OPERATION AND SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS WITH ILLUSTRATED PARTS BREAKDOWN TEST SET INTERCOMMUNICATION SET AN/AIM-3B; Dated: 15 JUNE 2004 w/CHANGE 1 - 15 JULY 2007 Copies of the above technical manuals are available at the NATEC web site or can be requested from: Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Contracts Department, Ms. Gianna Gatto, at (732)323-1270 or gianna.gatto@navy.mil. Interested companies are requested to provide information on products that could be modified or adapted to modernize and automate the Navy’s intermediate level AIC-14(V) support capability.
