Description
NAICS Code: 562211 Storage is needed for 15 lead liners containing greater than class C (GTCC) radioactive waste for the Gulf Nuclear - Webster removal site. This long-term storage is required until a final disposal facility/location becomes licensed to accept this type waste. Currentlythere is no such disposal facility available (current DOE schedule estimates 2010). The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has agreed to assume the long-term responsibility of this waste after this initial period. Period of performance starts 10/02/08 through 09/30/09. The US EPA, Region 6, intends to negotiate on a sole source with Waste Control Specialist, LLC, to provide storage for 15 lead liners containing Greater Than Class C radioactive waste as needed for the Gulf Nuclear - Webster Removal Site. EPA believes that this is the only facility that is licensed to store the lead liners containing Greater than Class C radioactive waste from the Gulf Nuclear - Webster Removal Site. This proposed action for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, all quotes received by this RFQ's closing date will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed simplified acquisition requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Response must include detailed technical information and other technical literature demonstrating the ability to meet these requirements. Responses shall also include itermized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. This RFQ is located at the Region 6 Website: http://www.epa.gov/region6/rfq.
