Description
The following answers are in response to solicitation VA-244-08-RP-0380, Anesthesiology Services: 1. The Lebanon VAMC needs one (1) FTE Lead Anesthesiologist and one (1) additional Anesthesiologist to provide coverage for planned and unplanned absences as well as to help cover the 24/7 call rotation and call back up PRN. Correct? Yes, the vendor will be providing covering for call. 2. Will the Anesthesiologist being hearts? - No hearts are being done at LVAMC 3.Are the hours really Noon to 8pm? - Yes, we are planning to extend our OR hours to 8pm. 1.0 FTEE LVAMC Anesthesiologist will cover 7 - 330, additional FTEE is needed to cover Noon - 8pm. There is no definite date set to start running late hours. 4.How much OT is expected? Varies significantly. 5.When on Call, do the CRNA's get called in as well or will the anesthesiologist be handling their own cases? - A CRNA and Anesthesiologist are on call; both will be called in for emergencies. 6.Can you elaborate on the Lead anesthesiologist position and clarify the hours for them as well, when it states that they will be present 2 full workdays per week. Does this mean they will have different hours these days or do they work longer hours these days? - The lead Anesthesiologist is our main contact. As the main contact, we expect them to be providing a majority of the services and be available to discuss issues as they arise. Once OR hours are extended, it is expected that hours for the contracted Anesthesiologist will typically run from 12-8. 7.Will the Lead Anesthesiologist get paid their hrly rate for attending meetings? - If attending a meeting at the request of the VA, they will be compensated. 8.Am I correct to assume the contractor can have up to 6wk of vacation? However does this account for the 10 Govt holidays? If not, does this mean they can get 8wks off then? - It is expected that the contractor will have 1.0 FTEE Anesthesiologist on-site each workday, not including federal holidays. 9.Is this a new position? - No. 10.Can you elaborate the weekend and weekend call rotation as well. i.e.: 1-2 weekday call per wk and 1-2 weekend calls per month. - Call coverage is 8pm to 7am weekdays and 24 hours on weekends (Fri call - 8pm to 7am Sat: Sat call - 7am Sat to 7am Sun; Sun call - 7am Sun to 7am Mon) 11.What is the caseload per day? - Approximately 3 - 10 cases per day. 12.What is the surgery/clinic schedule? - Currenly 7 - 330, expecting to expand hours to 8pm in the near future. 13.How many operating rooms are there? 3 Ors and 1 endoscopy suite. 14.Are any hears and heads done, or is this general only? - General surgery, ortho, plastics, podiatry, dental, endoscopy, urology - no hearts, heads, backs. 15.How many other Anesthesiologists are on staff? - 1.0 Anesthesiologist employed by LVAMC 16.What other staff works with the Anesthesiologist? - 3 to 4 CRNAs and 2 part-time anesthesia techs - CRNA students rotate through the ORs. 17.Will you please explain the on-call schedule and rotation? - Contractor is responsible for all physician call. 18. Do physicians do their own cases, or CRNA's? - 100% CRNA supervision 19.What percent does Dr. do vs percent of CRNA? - Above.
