- The U.S. Census Bureau intends to negotiate on a Sole Source basis, for the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), with D.K. Shifflet & Associates (DKSA) for Data Purchase for Travel & Tourism Satellite services for its Travel and Tourism Satellite Accounts. The awarded contract will be a Performance-Based Service Contract as discussed in FAR Subpart 37.6. BEA has developed several satellite accounts designed to expand the analytical capabilities of the system of national accounts. Included among these is the Travel and Tourism Satellite Accounts (TTSAs), which is used to determine the economic size of the U.S. Travel and Tourism Industry. BEA is updating the TTSA’s for calendar year 2007 and is seeking the same set of data to create the 1997-2005 TTSA’s for calendar year 2006. The primary goal is to secure the best, most comprehensive data as appropriate inputs consistent with the data provided to BEA for the past seven years for the TTSA’s. Continuity of data is crucial to accurately estimating the TTSA’s. This is not a request for competitive proposals, however responses received within 7 days from the posting of this notice will be reviewed and evaluated. Interested companies having the capability to provide the attached described services should submit, in writing, their capability statement with cost information to rhonda.m.talbert@census.gov within the 7 days of this notice. No telephone requests will be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice, but offers will be used to determine if comparable source is available and more advantageous to the BEA. If no responses are received a sole source contract with D.K. Shifflet & Associates (DKSA), for a one year period will be pursued without further notice.
