ANNOUNCEMENT A156008M661 with one (1) attachmentAction: Combined Synopsis/SolicitationResponse Date: 09/17/2008 Classification Code: 56Solicitation Number: Q156008M661 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Solicitation number for this Request For Quote (RFQ) is Q156008M661.This acquisition is a 100% set aside for small business; the associated NAICS code is 331210. The small business size standard is 1000 employees.The government will award a firm-fixed-price (FFP) contract resulting from the solicitation to the responsible offeror(s) whose offer, conforming to the solicitation, is the lowest price. A written notice of award or acceptance of an offer mailed or otherwise furnished to the successful offeror(s) within the time for acceptance specified in the offer, shall result in a binding contract without further action by either party. The contract for the fence posts and miscellaneous metal items will be awarded on or about September 19, 2008. REQUIREMENTS: Supply and Deliver; STEEL POSTS: Steel posts shall have a minimum outside diameter of 2.375 inches. Posts shall be 10.5 feet long with nine -inch diameterholes drilled through both sides of the pipe beginning 6 inches from one end and spaced 12 inches apart along the length of the posts. Posts shall be steel banded together in bundles of ten. Material used for steel posts shall be American made and meet one of the following requirements and mill sheets shall be provided:a) ASTM A53-94, Grade B, Type E or Type S, schedule 40, minimum wall thickness of 0.154 inches, galvanized in accordance with ASTM A123-89a.ORb) SS-40 pipe manufactured from cold formed steel meeting ASTM A569 with minimum yield strength of 50,000 psi, minimum wall thickness of 0.130 inches, and finished with a three part coating system consisting of hot dipped galvanizing with 1.0 ounce of zinc per square foot in accordance with ASTM A90, a chromate conversion coating, and an organic clear coating.QUANTITY: 735 fence postsTo be delivered FOB Destination to Wind Cave National Park, 13 miles North of Hot Springs, South Dakota on US HWY 385, No Later Than November 14, 2008.
