- The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia (DSCP) is seeking information and sources from the commercial industry concerning the potential acquisition of two ship-to-shore cranes for the Military Ocean Terminal Sunnypoint located in Southport NC. DSCP anticipates that a solicitation for the cranes will be issued in the near future and are interested in discussing this requirement with potential sources. The ship-to-shore cranes are generally described as: 1.double box girder, machinery on trolley, void of hydraulics 2.back reach 80’ 3.capacity 65 Long tons under the Spreader Bar 4.Outreach: Ability to service container vessels with a maximum of 18 containers across 5.120’ height under the Spreader Bar 6.Trolley Speed: 600 FPM minimum with acceleration of 5 seconds 7.Wheel Loads •Seaside Operating - 178,000 Lbs. per wheel (178 kips/wheel) •Landside Operating - 126,000 Lbs. per wheel (126 kips/wheel) •Seaside Non- Operating - 196,000 Lbs. per wheel (196 kips/wheel) •Landside Non-Operating - 220,000 Lbs. per wheel (220 kips/wheel) 8.Emergency hoist and boom brake 9.Single bay separation (88’6”) 10.60’ Portal Opening (Between Legs) 11.80’ track gauge 12.Torque Control Cable Reef 13.Motorized Festoon 14.Mechanical Snag Protection 15.Linear Actuated Tilt, List and Sway controls 16.Hoist Brakes 17.2 – 4 million cycle fatigue life 18.RF System 19.Computerized Maintenance Management System 20.Rotating Spreader Bar 21.13800 Electric/Diesel Backup (+or–1000ft travel) 22.Emergency A/C hoist, trolley and boom The cranes are required to be delivered and installed at the Military Ocean Terminal Sunnypoint. The tentative delivery and installation completion date is January 2011. It is anticipated that MOTSU will require the cranes to be delivered to its center wharf. The preferred method of delivery is vessel. The vendor shall be responsible to install the cranes using commercial procedures acceptable to the ordering activity as described in any resulting solicitation. The crane specifications, delivery requirements and installation requirements will be clearly stated in the solicitation. It is anticipated that a pre-proposal conference will be conducted by the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia at MOTSU in Southport NC. The date and time are yet to be determined.
