- The Federal Bureau of Prisons - Field Acquisition Office in Grand Prairie, Texas, intends to make a single award for the provision of providing Solid Waste Removal Services for the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) located in Terminal Island, California. The successful contractor shall provide trash removal services to include the rental of units, pick-up, exchange units, haul off, maintenance and relocation of trash produced by the FCI. All waste shall be disposed of in an approved landfill, in accordance with Federal, State and city regulations. The Contractor shall provide for rental and maintenance of two 34 cubic yard, hydraulic, roll off, compacting containers. One has an estimate of 104 pulls per 12 month year, and the other an estimate of 26 pulls per 12 month year. Two 40 cubic yard, open top, roll off containers. One with an estimate of 24 pulls per 12 month year, and the other with an estimate of 24 pulls per 12 month year. Lastly, two 4 cubic yard closed containers, both having an estimate of 104 pulls per 12 month year. These will be located in various places throughout the FCI. Estimated yearly weight will be approximately 832 tons per year for all of the units combined. The award will be made to the responsible contractor who submits the most advantageous quote to the Government based on price. The Contracting Officer anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price, indefinite-delivery, requirements type contract. The contract period shall consist of a 12-month base year with four 12 month option years for renewal. The solicitation will be made available on or about September 15, 2008 and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administrations Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fedbizopps.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The website provides all downloading instructions to obtain a copy of the solicitation. All future information concerning the acquisition, including solicitation and amendments, will be distributed solely through the website. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the site to ensure you have the most up-to-date information about the acquisition. All contractors doing business with the Federal Government shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. The website for registration is www.ccr.gov. The anticipated date for receipt of quotes is on or about October 15, 2008. The North American Industry Classification System code for this solicitation is 562111 with a size standard of $12.5 million. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations can submit offers/quotes equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. All responsible business sources may submit a quote.
