Description
NO PHONE CALLS! This announcement is a Market Survey/Request for Information. This announcement IS NOT A SCREENING INFORMATION REQUEST (SIR) or REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) of any kind. Further, the FAA is not seeking or accepting unsolicited proposals. All interested parties are advised that the FAA will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred that are associated with any response received from industry in response to this Market Survey/Request for Information. Therefore, any costs associated with Market Survey/Request for Information submissions will be solely at the interested party's expense. Final determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition, based on any information provided, is solely within the discretion of the Government. The purpose of this survey is to improve the Government's understanding of the current marketplace, obtain information on available technology and innovative approaches that may fulfill its mission need, and gain insight into industry capabilities and best practices. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma has a requirement to procure monitoring software for the Office of Information Technology (AMI) Data Center Services Division (AMI-300)that will be used in a production control environment at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Monitoring will consist of hardware, software, server, virtual machines, storage, operating systems, databases, availability, input/output, application and database bottlenecks and utilization, capacity, performance, CPU utilization, reporting, and notifications. Vendor software shall be web based. Vendor software shall be Section 508 compliant. Certification will be verified. Vendor software/product shall have the ability to notify Information Technology (IT) personnel of critical events with the ability to automate corrective action. Vendor software/product shall support the user's ability to add custom event processing or correlation rules. Vendor software/product shall have the ability to present event data to the IT staff in the following ways: On the console screen using color and sound (visual and audible alarms)Through a web interfaceBy e-mail, page, PDA or smart phone Vendor software shall support the following platforms: Unix Tru 64Sun SolarisAIXHP-UXLinuxRed HatSUSEMicrosoft Windows XP to latest versionOracle 8i to latest versionMicrosoft SQL Server 2000 to latest version Vendor software shall provide historical data collection and reporting to include: Workload analysis Wait based analysis Ratio based analysisSQL execution metrics CPU utilizationCapacity management monitoring Problem management monitoring Root cause analysis monitoring GSA Schedule Bids Only: Sellers bidding on this opportunity MUST have the items requested on an existing GSA Schedule. The Schedule must either be in the Seller's name or the Seller must be able to document its ability to act as an agent of a partner's Schedule. Information regarding GSA Schedules can be found at www.GSA.gov. This acquisition contemplates a phased approach. This, the initial phase involves the announcement of the requirement in order to permit companies to provide the required documents. Only those firms that respond successfully to this announcement will be allowed to participate in the next phase. The remaining phase(s) of the downselect process will be identified in future communications with those firms that successfully respond to this public announcement. Expressions of interest shall be provided by close of business September 15, 2008, to the Contracting Officer via email using the following email address: diana.pickel@faa.gov. Firms submitting a response should provide the following information: (1) Name and address of company, (2) point of contact (include name, position within the company, telephone number, and email address), (3) a short narrative of the firm's capabilities (not to exceed five pages), (4) product brochures, and (5) a completed Business Declaration form (attached).
