Description
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD), Panama City, Florida is soliciting competitive quotes to purchase five (5) each battery chargers that can meet the needs of the main propulsion and electronics battery for the AN/ASQ 235 (AMNS) Exercise Neutralizer, and be suitable for fleet use. This battery charger will be required to charge up to four destructors at one time and will need a simple and intuitive control panel for ease of operation. The case which the battery charger is located in should be water tight when closed and the internal packaging of the battery charger should allow it to withstand ship board shock loads without damaging the electronics. A total of five (5) battery chargers will be needed to support the various testing, and training agendas between the two programs. Charging the destructor battery requires application of 12 volts DC to a relay within the destructor. The relay draws approximately one ampere of current. Th! e relay closes the circuit connecting the positive lead from the destructor battery to the connector on the exterior of the destructor. The relay is energized by a pin within the same 4-pin connector on the destructor hull used to charge the battery. The current scenario is to apply the 12 volt, DC signal from a separate power supply. The required delivery date will be within 120 days after contract award. Delivery shall be FOB Destination to NSWC PCD, 110 Vernon Avenue, Panama City, Florida 32407. The resultant contract will be a firm fixed price purchase order. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 35999. The solicitation closing date is 15 September 2008. The resultant awardee must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. Registration may be accomplished by accessing the CCR website at http://www.ccr.gov/. A paper registration form may be obtained from the Department of Defense Electronic Commerce Inform! ation center at 1-888-227-2423.
