Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport intends to purchase the following items: MK21 Seal IAW Dwg. NSP-1000024-1, including membrane tooling fee (qty. 1); Sealing strip (qty. 1); Membrane bellows (qty. 2); Primary ring (qty. 1); Mating ring (qty. 1); Mating ring (qty. 34). The intent of this procurement is to replace the original Mk21 ATP seal with a new seal. NAICS code is 339991. Size standard is 500 Employees. It is expected to place a firm fixed price purchase order with John Crane, Inc. They are the only known source for these items because they are the only seals the Navy has found to be stable and have not failed after repeated use. Failure of a Mk21 seal produces significant seawater leakage into the submarine. Vendor must be JCP certified (http://www.dlis.dla.mil/default.asp) to receive drawings. Drawings will be provided and sent under separate cover upon the release of solicitation #N66604-08-R-5207, which is anticipated to be on or about 09/09/2008. Required delivery is 2 mths. after award, F.O.B. Destination Naval Station Newport; Newport, RI. All other timely offers will be considered. Offers for other products must contain complete product information and prices. Evaluation factors are technical capability, price and past performance. Each is equally important. For information on this acquisition contact Eileen Emond at 401-832-1482. For further information about all NUWC Division Newport acquisitions visit our web site at http://www.npt.nuwc.navy.mil/contract/. Our department no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form. Instead, they may be accessed at our web site http://www.npt.nuwc.navy.mil/contract/. We also provide electronic access in our Bid Room.
