This announcement constitutes the onlysolicitation; offers are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.This notice is being issued as a total small business set-aside with requests forquotations (RFQ.) The description and details are below:Description Procure 1000 l/sec (minimum N2) Turbomolecular pump system for use oninsulated chamber. Procurement shall include pump, controller and accessories describedbelow.Item 1: Turbomolecular PumpThe Varian, Inc. Turbo-V1001 Pump Varian Part number 9698934 or equal. Pumping speed (with inlet screen):- NW250 ISO flange: 1,050 l/sec (N2), 900 l/sec (He), 920 l/sec (H2) or greaterCompression ratio:NW200/250 ISO flange: 1 &tims; 109 (N2), 1 107 (He), 1 106 (H2)Base pressure with recommended forepump: &lt;1 10-10 torrForeline flange: NW40 KFRotational speed: 38,000 rpmStart-up time: &lt;4 minutesCooling requirements: forced-air Maximum bakeout temperature:- ISO flange: 80 C at inlet flangeVibration level (displacement): &lt;0.01 m at inlet flangeWeight of complete system:- Less than 50 Lbs.Highly reliable, maintenance-free ceramic bearings.Monolithic rotor.Item 2: Turbo-V Rack-Mount ControllerVarian Part number 9699554 or equal. Microprocessor-controlled frequency converter with self-diagnostic and protectionfeatures that ensure the highest degree of reliability. Each compact, - or -rack unit has a multifunction, two-line, LCD alphanumericdisplay, with back lighting, for pump status and error code diagnostics. It displays rotational speed as the pump starts up and indicates when full speedis reached. At any time during the operation of the pump, the speed, current, power, andbearing temperature can be displayed. Additionally, the microprocessor acts as a pump cycle logger, and it can displaythe number of vacuum cycles, the cycle time for the current cycle, and the totaloperating hours on the pump. Remote operation can be accomplished with logic-level contact closures orthrough optional computer interfaces.Item 3: AIR-COOLING KIT, TURBO-V 1001 STD RACK CTRLVarian part number 9699315 or equal.Air cooling kit for item number 1. Controlled by controller, Item 2.Item 4: INLET SCREEN, ISO250 Varian Part number 9699350 or equal.Inlet screen to fit item number 1.Item 5: CABLE, MAINS, NEMA PLUGVarian Part number 9699350 or equal.Cables to connect item 1 to item 2.Item 6, VALVE, VENT, TURBO-V STD RACK CNTRLVarian Part number 9699843 or equal.It consisting of a control unit and a valve is a complete unit for automaticventing of a Turbo-V pump when it is switched off or during a power failure. The valve is an electromagnetically actuated type with a filter on the airinlet. The control unit is powered by the Turbo-V controller, and it has a fixed delaytime of about 5 seconds to avoid undesired venting and to allow closure of the systemvalves before venting.Has adjustable delay and venting times up to 36 minutes.The control unit of the vent device is powered by the Turbo-V controller and italso has a built-in backup battery.The provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect beginning June 2008.http://nais.nasa.gov/far/ The NAICS Code and the small business size standard for this procurement are 333912.
