- This Invitation for Bid, Sealed Bid is to replace existing Fire Alarm System with a new addressable type Fire Alarm System to include a radio reporting system for B600 in accordance with Goverment Drawings and Specifications. Drawings & Specifications may be downloaded and copied to CD for reproduction. Files are located on the right side of the Solicitation web page on FBO. You may have them downloaded and reproduced by a reprographics firm. The WEB SITE FOR FBO is (www.fbo.gov) Please be advised that any technical assistance you may require to download the Solicitation and CD/Drawings for this effort, please contact the Contracting Officer, Mr. Gerald Sweet at 732-532-1607, his e-mail address is Gerald.Sweet@US.Army.Mil,he will help you in this new process. In order to submit a BID for this Fire Alarm Effortt you must meet the following Qualifications: System Designer: System working plans and calculations must be prepared and submitted for approval by a registered fire protection engineer (FPE) or an individual that has obtained National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), Fire Alarm Systems, Level III certification (minimum) in accordance with NFPA 72. Installer: NICET Level I A licensed Electrical Contractor or Fire Alarm Technician with NICET Level I certification (minimum) is required to install conduit and wiring. All Installers shall be factory trained and certified in the installation of the equipment specified for the system. NICET Level II Installation of field devices, termination of system wiring and circuits at the control panel require a NICET Level II certification. NICET Level III Supervision of personnel installing the system, programming of the control panel, testing, final acceptance test. The Site Visit is on 26 August, 2008 at 10 AM. (Site Visit is not mandatory) The Solicitation is issued as a 100% Small Business Set Aside. Please be advised that REPS and CERTS and BID OFFER Guarantee will be required at time of Bid Opening on 9 September 2008, at 2:30 PM EST. The magnitude for this effort is ( $25,000-$100,000) IAW FAR 36.204. Contract award is subject to the availability of funds. The period of performance for this effort is 80 days. Liquidated Damages will be assessed at $47.00 per day for any unauthorized schedule overruns.The con tractor will be required to provide a construction performance schedule (MS Project Format) and a Schedule of Values for Progress Payments prior to start of wo rk.
