Description
SYNOPSIS: Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision and transportation required for EXTERIOR PAINTING OF FUEL TANKS at the United States Coast Guard Training Center, Cape May, New Jersey (Cape May county). All work shall be performed in accordance with USCG Specifications, provisions, clauses and the terms and conditions of this contract. In general the work includes but is not limited to the following: Surface preparation and painting of two above ground petroleum storage tanks located at the United States Coast Guard Training Center, Cape May NJ. One 1,000 gallon concrete encased gasoline storage tank located behind Garage – BLDG 157 and one 2,000 gallon concrete encased diesel storage tank located behind Garage – BLDG 157. The work involved as part of this project shall include: 1.The preparation, priming, and painting of all of the exterior surfaces (except bottom) of the storage tanks, including vent piping, emergency vents etc... One coat of primer and one coat of paint shall be done. A two part epoxy-based paint or 100% acrylic enamel shall be used. All exposed exterior surfaces shall be clean of all rust, corrosion, scale, blisters, oil, loose paint, etc. so as to meet the approved paint manufacturer’s requirements prior to application of any primer or paint. The contractor shall prepare the surface and apply each coat of primer and paint in strict accordance with the approved paint manufacture’s instructions. 2.When the tanks are painted, they shall be marked on all sides with warning signs: “FLAMMABLE” or “COMBUSTIBLE”, “NO SMOKING”, product identification, NFPA diamond, and other signs as require by applicable codes 3.The Contractor shall be aware that there is no lead base paint on the existing exterior painted surfaces. 4.The proper containment and disposal of all generated debris. 5.The contractor shall work around existing piping and pumps. 6.Protection of all adjacent areas from damage during the extent of this Contract. Period of Performance shall be 60 days after issuance of Notice to Proceed. This procurement is estimated BELOW $25,000.00. This procurement is a Total Set-Aside for Small Business Firms. The NAICS code for this procurement is 238320 with a size standard of $13.0M. All responsible sources may submit an offer that will be considered by the agency. All solicitation document files will be available for download on or after 8 AUGUST 2008 exclusively from the Internet by accessing the government-wide Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website at http://www.fbo.gov.
