Description
J--Notice of Intent to Sole Source - Kidde Fire Trainers Inc. The 1st Contracting Squadran Langley AFB intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Kidde Fire Trainers, Inc., 17 Philips Parkway, Montvale, NJ 07645-1810 the authorized Kidde Fire Trainer representative/distributor for the state of Virginia. The proposed work is for the maintenance of the Kidde Fire Trainer T1000 Fire Training System for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The Government believes that only one responsible source can provide the service that will satisfy the agency requirements. There are no outside organizations authorized to conduct maintenance or repairs on the Kidde Fire Trainers. A Justification for Other than Full and Open Competition has been prepared in support of this acquisition. Firms that recognize and can provide the required work described above are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. All responses received within 7 days of the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses should include the firm's Dun and Bradstreet (DUNS) Number and Tax Identification Number (TIN). Firms should identify themselves as either small business, or other than small business, in accordance with the size standard of 500 employees under the North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) code of 333999. Responses to this notice should be mailed to 1 CONS, LGCB, 74 Nealy Avenue,Langley AFB 23665; via fax 757-764-7447; or by E-mail at leland.whipkey@langley.af.mil. Effective October 1, 2003, prospective vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Register (CCR) prior to the award of a contract. Lack of registration in the CCR database may make an offeror ineligible for award. The CCR Handbook and information on the registration process can be obtained via the CCR website, http://www.ccr.gov or by calling 1-888-227-2423.
