- THIS IS NOT A SET-ASIDE ACQUISITION. THIS RFP IS OPEN TO BOTH LARGE AND SMALL BUSINESS. AWARD WILL BE PROCESSED PURSUANT TO THE SMALL BUSINESS COMPETITIVENESS DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 6, Lakewood, Colorado is requesting proposals from qualified and eligible firms capable of furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials to rehabilitate refuge fences in accordance with attached specifications, drawings, and bid schedule. Work under This Contract includes: A. Construct 5.25 miles of new, four (4) strand barbed wire boundary fence. B. Removal of 3.5 miles of existing woven wire fence. All existing fencing materials shall be legally disposed of by the Contractor at an off site disposal facility. JOB CONDITIONSThe proposed fence line traverses terrain that may be wet, sandy or uneven. There may be a number of small drainages, rises and falls, and rocky or compacted soils. Contractors are urged to visit the work sites and become familiar with existing conditions. Failure of the Contractor to ascertain the nature, location, and conditions which affect the work will not relieve him from the responsibility for successfully performing the work without additional expense to the Government. LOCATION AND INSPECTION OF SITEA. The sites for fence construction are located on the Arrowwood Wetland Management District. Located approximately 3 miles north of McHenry, ND is the Swan Lake WPA and approximately 12 miles north of McHenry (4 miles north of the junction of Highway 15 and Highway 20) is the Ziebart WPA. Prospective bidders may inspect the site by making arrangements with District Manager Stacy Adolf-Whipp at Arrowwood Wetland District, 7745 11th Street SE, Pingree, ND 58476, telephone number (701)-285-3341. The estimated magnitude of construction is under $100,000.00. The total performance is 90 days from the Notice to Proceed. This acquisition is open to both large and small business concerns. The NAICS code 238990, All Other Specialty Trade Contractors and the small business size standard is $13 Million. The solicitation package is anticipated to available electronically on/or about July 18, 2008 with an anticipated closing date of August 12, 2008.
