Description
INDUSTRY DAY U.S. Army Sustainment Command (ASC), Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, IL -- THIS IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT FOR AN UPCOMING INDUSTRY DAY ONLY. The Army Sustainment Command will hold an Industry Day immediately following the APBI meeting scheduled for August 20-21, 2008. The industry day meeting starts on August 21, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AT THIS TIME. However, there will be several documents (agenda and technical documentation) that will be posted on the ASC web site for interested parties to review prior to Industry Day. The U.S. Army Sustainment Command is proposing to conduct a competition to replace the expiring Global Maintenance and Supply Services contract. This contract will be a multiple year services contract for the HQ, ASC. Service providers must have an operating knowledge of maintenance, supply and logistics services performed at CONUS and OCONUS locations in peacetime, emergency and wartime working conditions. Maintenance capabilities include field level services, repair, and maintenance support performed on a variety of tactical equipment including wheeled and tracked vehicles, support equipment, non-tactical vehicles, and commercially procured equipment. Supply capabilities include operation of both retail and wholesale supply activities, involving receipt, issue, transportation, operation and maintenance of automated information technology (AIT) systems, readiness reporting systems. Standard Army Management Information Systems (retail/wholesale), and mission specific systems including the Army War Reserve Deployment System. The classes of supply involve supply Class I, II, IIIP, IV, VII, VIII, and IX. Logistics services involve overall program management services, configuration and sustainment of US Army modular equipment sets, non-Army customer equipment sets, providing quality control and quality assurance support, contingency planning, liaison support, base operations support, and risk management. Services may be required by a variety of customers including, but not limited to, US Army, US Army Reserve, National Guard Bureau, Joint Forces, DoD Agencies (non military), US Government organizations, foreign government entities, and Coalition Forces. SUPPORTED SITES: The GMASS program provides support to OIF/OEF and other identified contingency sites. The US Army Sustainment Command continues to require providers for worldwide maintenance and supply services. The sites may be either CONUS or OCONUS based. Please be aware that contractor personnel may be required to work in austere and hostile work environments. The purpose of the Industry Day is to provide information to industry on the upcoming competition for the Global Maintenance and Supply Services II contract. In addition, this meeting provides an opportunity for industry to identify recommended approaches to the recompete of the Global Maintenance and Supply Services contract with emphasis on quality, award fee strategies, incentive packages, metrics, and continuous improvement. A question and answer session will be held at the end of the day on August 21, 2008. Please include a statement in this e-mail indicating whether or not Army Sustainment Command may include this information when posting and/or distributing the list of attendees.
