Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport intends to place a Cost Plus Fixed Fee (term) sole source new procurement contract modification against contract N66604-08-C-0512, awarded to Ultra Electronics Ltd of Great Britain on 25 January 2008. The proposed modification will support additional at sea testing requirements of the Recoverable Tethered Optical Fibre (RTOF) submarine communication system. The testing is anticipated to take place in the Nov/Dec 08 time frame. As the designer and builder of this hardware, Ultra is the only company capable of providing the technical support necessary to conduct all the efforts related to the installation and testing of the RTOF system. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate only with Ultra Electronics. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Closing date is 01 Aug 2008. Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS) rating of DO-C9 applies. For information on this acquisition contact Michael Broomfield at 401-832-8469.
