Description
This is modification 1 to the synopsis entitled Radio Frequency Filter Redesign andSolicitation NNJ08256914Q which was posted on July 1, 2008. You are notified that thefollowing changes are made: Modification 1 is being issued to respond to questions asfollows:(Q1) What are the filter electrical requirements (e.g. insertion loss, out of bandattenuation, passband, etc...)? (A1) Center frequency = 1.575 GH 1 dBc BW = 50 MHz min Insertion Loss = 1.4 dB max at 1.575 GHz Return loss = 14 dB min Impedance = 50 ohms Attenuation = 75 dBc min at 1.15 GHz, 65 dBc min from 2.2 - 2.3 GHz, and 50dBc min from 2.3 - 4GHz(Q2) Is this antenna passive or active?(A2) Antenna assembly has active components with several stages of amplification. However, the filter that needs to be redesigned/replaced is passive.(Q3) If it's active, will an LNA design also be required?(A3) Filter is passive.(Q4) Can more detailed information about the system to be modified be provided? (A4) Must meet existing filter footprint - dimensions 1.54" x 0.46" x 0.735".Environmental specs: operating temp -40C to 85C; shock Mil-Std-202/Method 213 (20 G's);Vibe Mil-Std-202/Method 214 (10 G's). (Q5) The solicitation describes the redesign of a filter, but also specifies that themanufacture is the only one that has the rights to modify the design. Can you please helpclarify this?(A5) This solicitation is for work being done under an existing contract with MimixBroadband, Inc., the designer and the original manufacturer of the GPS AntennaElectronics. The due date for responses is extended.Documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. Thesedocuments will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWWbrowser application. The Internet site, or URL, for the NASA/JSC Business Opportunitieshome page is http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=D&pin=73 Offerors are responsible for monitoring this site for the release of the solicitation andany amendments.
