- REQUEST FOR QUOTE FOR A FIRM-FIXED PRICE SERVICE CONTRACT FOR THE U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS, NASHVILLE DISTRICT TO REPLACE A GANTRY CRANE POWER SUPPLY AT BARKLEY POWER PLANT. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville District, Nashville, TN intends to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for Service Disabled Veteran Small Business Set -Aside under NAICS code 811310 Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Repair and Maintenance. The small business size standard for this requirement is $6.5 million. The estimated value of the contract is between $100,000 and $150,000.The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, supplies, and equipment to replace the existing 480 volt three phase power supply to the 110 ton intake gantry crane. The existing power supply is a three phase under-slung bus bar and brush type that travels 1200 feet (+ or -) across the intake and spillway of the dam. The replacement will be a cable and cable reel mounted on the downstream side of the downstream lock side leg of the crane. The replacement will also require the 480 volt power supply being extended approximately 225 feet from the southwest corner of the intake section of the powerhouse to the pier between spill gates 9 and 10, where there will be a connection for the cable on the reel. Completion of the crane modernization shall be 120 days after award of the contract. Point of contact at Barkley Power Plant is Jamie Holt, (270) 362-8159.
