- The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis for application support services with Tecan US, Inc., 4022 Stirrup Creek Drive., Suite 310, Durham, NC 22703. Tecan shall provide application support for the optimization of the Tecan robotic workstations currently being utilized by the FBI. The primary goal of the optimization is to develop high through put bucal swab processing application and to optimize the precision and accuracy of the Tecan robotics to ensure compliance with established tolerance limits. Tecan is the only company that can provide on-site application support of their products. Based on extensive market research conducted with knowledgeable individuals in Government and the related industry, only one responsible source can provide the requested services. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit quotes to this office by 9:00 AM, EST, Friday, July 25, 2008, via facsimile to the attention of Ms. Lynda M. Theisen, Contracting Officer, at (703) 632-8480. E-mail quotes will also be accepted at Lynda.Theisen@ic.fbi.gov. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This contract will be awarded as a commercial item in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation, Parts 12 and 13. All contractors anticipating award, must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration Database.
