Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Systems Operations Contract Division, HQ, Washington, DC, proposes to issue a requirement for the acquisition of multiple types of surge protective devices (SPD)/transient voltage surge suppressors (TVSS). The purpose of the devices is to limit transient over voltages and divert surge currents appearing on FAA power distribution networks. The type of contract contemplated under this requirement is an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity type contract consisting of a one year base period plus 4-one year options. All prices are requested on a firm-fixed price (FFP) basis. The desired delivery is FOB: Destination based on the estimated quantities listed under the Schedule. This acquisition is being procured as a 100 percent Small Business Set-Aside. The SPD/TVSS proposed under this requirement consist of Commercial-Off-the-Shelf/Non-Developmental Items. The specifications establish the requirements for 60 Hz AC devices used for transient protection of FAA power distribution systems. The procurement of all new and replacement SPD/TVSS by the FAA shall be in accordance with the specifications set forth under the Screening Information Request (SIR). (Note: This SIR contains provisions for a First Article Testing (FAT). The principle North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 335999; Surge Suppression Manufacturing. The corresponding size standard in number of employees is 500. The anticipated issue date of the Screening Information Request (SIR)/Request for Offer (RFO) is 7 July 2008, with a scheduled closing date of 12 August 2008. A copy of the Screening Information Request/Request for Offer can be located at: http://faaco.faa.gov/index.cfm, on/or about the issue date noted above. All responses to this SIR must be submitted in accordance with Page 1, Block 9, and Section L, "Instructions, Conditions, and Notices to Offers".
