Description
The U.S. Maritime Administration, Division of Atlantic Operations, has a requirement for services of an Industrial Hygiene firm to conduct monthly visual walk through survey/inspections onboard ships to identify the location and condition of suspected asbestos-containing materials; monthly asbestos air monitoring of James River Reserve Fleet employees in the performance of their work tasks; monthly asbestos monitoring of work areas onboard designated MARAD ships; bulk sampling; and annual asbestos monitoring of work areas in designated fleet shore side facilities and/or onboard fleet service craft. Contractor is required to have the capability and resources to conduct the analysis of airborne asbestos fibers collected during the monitoring. All work shall be accomplished in accordance with the attached Statement of Work. Contractor shall ensure that all work is performed in accordance with all Federal, State and Local standards and regulations. The work shall be scheduled through the Safety and Occupational Health Specialist at James River Reserve Fleet – Fleet Operations Group, Fort Eustis Army Base, Newport News, VA 23604. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, in conjunction with FAR 13.5, and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is PRSAR080421 and is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 05-15. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 922160 with a small business size standard of less than 500 employees. This requirement is set aside 100% for small business and only qualified offerors may submit a quote. The following FAR clauses apply to this solicitation.
