Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested. The United States Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order for the procurement and delivery of a gas monitor in accordance with the Simplified Acquisition Procedures specified under FAR Part 13. This solicitation number for this Request for Quote (RFQ) is W912DS-08-T-0026. The contractor shall provide and deliver one (1) gas monitor to the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, 26 Federal Plaza, Safety and Occupational Health Office, Room 1847, New York, NY 10278. The gas monitor can be used as a personal monitor, a hand held sniffer, or as a continuous operations area monitor. It must have universal AC/DC wall adapter with international plug kit, a Photo ionization detector (PID) (minimum 60 correction factors built into memory), Oxygen and lower explosive limit (LEL) sensor, room for two additional toxic gas sensors (total four gases), Wireless communication enabled and certified, Data logging capability (minimum 16,000 point datalogging capacity), Durable rubber boot casing, a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and an audible alarm (minimum 95db buzzer). The maximum weight of the unit should be unit 15 ounces and the approximate size of unit is 4.5 inches by 3 inches by 2 inches. FOB: Destination. The applicable NAICS code is 334514 with a Small Business Size of 500 employees. BASIS FOR AWARD: The Government intends to make an award to the Contractor who submits the lowest, responsive quotation, and is deemed acceptable and responsible by the Contracting Officer. Quotations are due 26 June 2008 no later than 2:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time). The Contracting Officer reserves the right to make no award under this procedure. The media selected for issuance of the Request for Quote and amendments, shall solely be at the discretion of the Government; accordingly, the media utilized for this project shall be the Internet. All vendors who want access to the solicitation will be required to register with Central Contractor Registration (CCR) (www.ccr.gov) and FedBizOps (http://www.fbo.gov). Utilization of the Internet is the preferred method. DFARS 252.204-7004, Required Central Contractor Registration (CCR) applies to this procurement.
