- Description
- The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) plans to issue a solicitation for the acquisition of five types of Rigging Boards used on the printing presses during currency production. The stock numbers are 1L001958, 1L001959, 1L002002, 1L002017, and 1L002026 are in accordance with BEP Specification PB;RB-3, dated December 6, 2002. An unrestricted full and open competitive solicitation is planned. The contract type will be Fixed-Priced, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity. Delivery terms are F.O.B. Destination to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, 3201 Pennsy Dr, Landover, MD 20785 and Bureau of Engraving and Printing, 9000 Blue Mound Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76131. The period of performance will be for one (1) twelve month base period and four (4) 12-month option years. Estimated quantities for deliveries to the Washington D.C. facility for Type I Rigging Boards are as follows: 8,000 boards for the base year and each option year. Estimated deliveries for Type II Rigging Boards to each of two (2) Bureau of Engraving and Printing facilities are: 11,500 boards for the base year, 11,500 for each Option period. Estimated delivery for Type III Rigging Boards to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing facilities are as follow: 7,000 boards for the base year, 8,000 for Option year 1; & 10,000 for the remaining three (3) option years. This procurement will be negotiated and awarded according to the procedures set forth in FAR Parts 12 & 15. Offerors will be requested to submit a material sample consisting of 200 Typed I Rigging Boards and 50 Type III Rigging Boards to the Washington, D.C. facility with their offer for evaluation. Additionally, 200 Type II boards shall be submitted and delivered to the Fort Worth, TX facility for evaluation. The source selection decision will be based on overall best value to the Government, price and non-price factors will be considered. The solicitation will be available on or about June 13, 2008. The BEP anticipated the closing date of the solicitation on or about June 30, 2008.
