Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), Field Acquisition Office, Grand Prairie, TX intends to make a single award for the provision of On-Site Mobile Digital Mammography Unit services at the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Medical Center, Satellite Prison Camp, Lexington, Kentucky. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 621512 (Size Standard: $12.5 million). All contractors doing business with the Federal Government must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. The website for registration is www.ccr.gov. The contract periods will consist of a 12-month base period and four 12-month option periods for renewal with an estimated maximum of 240 exams per 12-month period. The mobile unit’s digital imaging capabilities shall allow the operator to readily complete approximately 5 to 20 patients per session. The Contractor will normally conduct services 12 times per year. Services in this statement of work are defined at a prearranged date in which the Contractor will be scheduled to perform on-site services on the inmate population at SPC Lexington. The services/sessions length will be a maximum of eight (8) hours per visit. The sessions will normally be scheduled between the hours of 7:30 am and 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. The Contractor will be responsible for perform digital breast screening mammograms, providing professional interpretations, the cost of professional interpretations of mammograms, regardless of the number of exams. The Contractor will be responsible for equipment transportation, delivery and set up of facility, tractors, trailers, drivers, complete maintenance/service coverage on all equipment, training and staffing insurance, site planning and consultation, marketing, support, etc. The Contractor must provide proof of certification by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and accredition by the American College of Radiology. The mobile unit shall be capable of digital mammography and be able to be read with the aid of the R2 ImageChecker. The Contractor’s employee must have graduated from a two-year radiography program and hold a valid certificate from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and have one-year full time experience/employment within the last three years. The Contractor must provide, with their quote, photocopies of documents evidencing ability to meet qualifications to perform required services in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Examples of documentary evidence include licenses, diplomas, certifications, resumes, etc. The solicitation will be available on/about June 3, 2008 and will be distributed solely through this website. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The website provides downloading instructions to obtain all documents relating to this solicitation. All future information concerning this acquisition, including the solicitation and any subsequent amendments, will be distributed through the website. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the website to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about the acquisition. The date for receipt of quotations is on/about July 3, 2008; however, this is a projected estimate and quoters should refer to Page 1 of the solicitation (Block #8) for the actual date quotations are due. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations can submit offers/bids/quotations equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. This solicitation is a full and open competitive procurement. All responsible small business concerns are encouraged to submit a quotation which may be considered.
