Description

U. S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Cultural Heritage Center (ECA/P/C) plans to award a sole source, non personal services purchase order to Dr. John M. Russell, 26 Averton St., Apt. 3, Roslindale, MA 02131-3415, to provide special coordination for ongoing projects to advance cultural heritage preservation in Iraq. This is not a full time position. Dr. Russell will perform tasks as assigned by ECA/P/C over a period of one year. The estimated amount of the order is $99,900.00. Dr. Russell is an archaeologist specializing in the Near Eastern archaeology, with archaeological fieldwork experience in the region, including Iraq. He is intimately familiar with cultural heritage issues in Iraq and has strong professional relationships with members of the Iraq Ministry and the State Board of Antiquities and Heritage, which oversees all cultural heritage projects in Iraq. He has served in Baghdad as the CPA’s Senior Advisor to Iraq’s Ministry of Culture, at which time he worked closely with ECA/P/C to advance several cultural heritage protection initiatives. Dr. Russell has supported ECA/P/C as Special Coordinator for Iraqi Cultural Heritage since 2005.
