Description
We are conducting market research to identify sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of the Flap Slat Asymmetry Detection System Modification. The attached Performance-Based Work Statement (PWS) and Performance Specification delineate the requirements for the contractor to design, fabricate, document, install, and test one modification kit for the Flap/Slat Asymmetry Detection System (FSADS) on a designated C-5 to resolve existing problems in the current aircraft system. The goal of this task is to resolve the deficiencies in the current C-5 Flap/Slat Asymmetry Detection System which affect system safety and aircraft availability. The new design shall be compatible with all versions of the C-5 (C-5A, C-5B, and C-5C) and C-5 aircraft modified by the Avionics Modernization Program (AMP). The new design shall be transportable forward into the Reliability Enhancement and Re-Engining Program (RERP) with minimum kit changes. The projected requirements are to be based on two requirements; 1 prototype, 110 kits 10 per year until the year 2020. The level of security clearance and amount of foreign participation in this requirement has not been determined. Contractors/Institutions responding to this market research are placed on notice that participation in this survey may not ensure participation in future solicitations or contract awards. The government will not reimburse participants for any expenses associated with their participation in this survey. INTERESTED CONTRACTORS SHOULD RESPON D IAW THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE ATTACHED CAPABILITY SURVEY DOCUMENT.
