- INVITATION FOR BID FOR A FIRM-FIXED PRICE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR THE U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS, NASHVILLE DISTRICT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE ACCESS ROAD BRIDGE AT WILSON LOCK AT FLORENCE, ALABAMA. The Corps of Engineers (COE), Nashville District, Nashville, TN intends to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB) under NAICS code 237990 Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction. The small business size standard for this requirement is $31 million. The estimated value of the contract is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Construction services are required for the fabrication and installation of a new two-lane vehicular bridge across the auxiliary lock chamber at Wilson Lock in Florence, Alabama. The new bridge will be a 3-span (70 155 112) with composite steel plate-girders, concrete deck, and concrete support piers and abutments. Some site grading, paving, and utility work will also be required to tie bridge into existing roadway and parking areas. Construction will be within the property limits of the Tennessee Valley Authoritys Wilson Lock and Dam Project. Construction administration will be by the Nashville District US Army Corps of Engineers. The contract is expected to take approximately 540 days to complete. All companies submitting must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) at http://www.ccr.gov or by calling 1-888-227-2423. Representations and Certifications must be completed electronically via the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) website at http://orca.bpn.gov within the last 12 months. The Solicitation is projected to be issued on FEDBIZOPPS on or around 27 April 2008. All pertinent information will be posted through FEDBIZOPPS. Should any of the above change, amendments will be posted on FEDBIZOPPS. It is recommended that each firm check the website daily for updates: www.fedbizopps.gov Hard copies of amendments will not be mailed. Telephone requests or e-mails to the contract specialist for amendments will not be issued for the synopsis or solicitation.
