- Marine Corps System Command, Program Manager for Training Systems (PM TRASYS), is issuing this Sources Sought Notice to identify potential Vendors capable of providing two grenade qualification courses at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, NC. The two grenade qualification courses will be used to train and test individual Marines on the skills necessary to employ hand grenades against stationary emplacements. The qualification course is two courses of instruction, one is a distance and accuracy course and the other is the qualification course. The qualification course consists of 7 stations laid out over a 1000ft trail. Station 1 is a group of silhouette targets in the open, engaged from a 2 man fighting position at a distance of 35 meters. Station 2 is a bunker with two firing portholes. Station 3 is a fortified 82 mm mortar position engaged at 20 meters. Station 4 is a group of target behind cover at 20 meters. Station 5 is to clear a trench line entry point at 25 meters. Station 6 is to engage troops in an open vehicle at 25 meters. Station 7 required Marines to identify hand grenades by shape, color, markings, and capabilities. The distance and accuracy course consists of 5 stations laid out in a 425ft0 x 300ft area. The course requires three 6ft x 30ft log berms, two 2 man fighting positions, one 82mm mortar position, 6 silhouette targets, a 30ft concertina wire obstacle, a 45ft concrete open trench-line, and a 60ft x 60ft open trench system incorporating a concrete bunker, concertina wire obstacles and an open 15ft concrete trench. The Contractor shall furnish the necessary services, supplies, FOB Destination delivery to the range and travel required to perform at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, NC, the installation of the two grenade qualification courses. The Contractor is responsible for all site prep work including leveling, trenching, pouring of concrete for the trench lines, and laying concertina wires. This award will be approximately $98,000 with an anticipated delivery date of 90 days after contract award. This request for proposal in no way implies either implicitly or explicitly that respondents will be compensated in any way by the US Government for information or materials provided. It should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the US Government to issue a solicitation. Any information provided to the Government in response to this RFI will become USMC property and will not be returned. All proprietary or classified information will be treated appropriately. Written response is requested within 15 days after publication of this notice. This request is for all Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) and Non-Developmental Items (NDI). No phone calls will be accepted.
