- Description
- This is a Sources Sought Synopsis announcement for information purposes only (FAR 52.215-3). No proposals are being requested or accepted with this synopsis. Be advised that this request does not constitute an obligation upon the Government to pursue any follow-on contract action, in part or whole, with current or potential vendors. The purpose of this synopsis is to access the market’s capability and to determine acquisition strategy and small business goal attainment. Collecting, processing, and delivering timely and accurate information is critical to accomplishing the Department of Defense (DOD) logistics mission. The amount of data and the number of systems created to process data are expanding and at the same time the role of data is changing. A large number of current DOD Distribution problems are traceable to data quality (DQ) issues. The United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) is seeking sources that possess the availability and capability to identify DQ errors and to produce and document recommended solutions. The purpose of this Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) effort is to develop an automated DQ analysis capability through the effective leveraging and utilization of existing DQ tools (i.e. Data Flux) linked to the Integrated Data Environment (IDE)/Global Transportation Network (GTN) Convergence (IGC) to enable end-to-end (E2E) analysis of DQ across the Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise (JDDE). USTRANSCOM is considering issuing a solicitation which will have a 12-month base year and four 12-month option years, for a possible 5 year contract. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this acquisition is 541690 – Other Scientific and Consulting Services. The Small Business Size Standard for this acquisition is $6.5 Million. Interested sources should provide the following information: • Offeror’s name, address, point of contact, phone number, and e-mail address. • Offeror’s interest in providing a proposal on the solicitation when it is issued. • Brief description of the offeror’s capability to perform the work described above. • Offeror’s business size. Interested sources shall respond to this Sources Sought Synopsis no later than 1600hrs (CST) on 22 May 2008. Please remit your response via email to Mr. Thomas Connell at thomas.connell@ustranscom.mil.
