Description
The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Air Vehicles Directorate, will be hosting an Industry Day event on 5-6 JUN 2008 at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH (Perkins Room, Building 146, Area B). The purpose of this Industry Day is to discuss the Aerospace Technology Evaluation and Assessment (ATEA) program. The first day of the event will include tours of the research facilities associated with ATEA and presentations describing the technical activities that are expected to be accomplished under the ATEA effort. A Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) is anticipated to be released on 25 JUL 2008 for the ATEA program. Information contained in the final BAA synopsis takes precedence over any information that is presented at Industry Day or associated with this Industry Day announcement. The Department of Defense (DoD) and the Aerospace industry are continuously adapting to the evolving operational environment, and the Air Forces must be prepared to operate in this changing environment and to provide new warfighter capabilities to meet the nation's need. New capabilities typically come from modifying the use of existing systems, marrying new technologies with existing systems, or developing completely new technologies and concepts. Developing new concepts of employment and transitioning emerging technologies has always been a challenge; one approach that facilitates the process is to extensively use Modeling, Simulation and Analysis (MS&A) during all phases of weapons system development effort. Comprehensive Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) is key to ensuring a strong connectivity between DoD and AF requirements, and the needs of the acquisition community and the warfighter. MS&A can span all phases of acquisition and provides avenues to meet the needs of science & technology, test & evaluation, and training & operational communities. Collaborative MS&A across system-of-systems is a key enabler to ensure correlation among the stakeholders. The ATEA program is focused on the planning and execution of such MS&A activities. The ATEA Industry Day will be held in the Perkins Room (Building 146, AREA B), Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio, on 5-6 June 2008. ALL ATTENDEES MUST REGISTER BY 30 MAY 2008 BY CONTACTING ONE OF THE FOLLOWING INDIVIDUALS: Antoinette Collins, 937-904-6551, antoinette.collins@wpafb.af.mil (Primary) Dan Caudill, 937-904-6548, dan.caudill@wpafb.af.mil (Alternate) Sign-in on the first day of the conference will begin at 0800; the Government briefings and tours will begin at 0900 and conclude at 1700; lunch will be from 1200-1330. The briefings will be UNCLASSIFIED. Attendees should mail or fax (937-255-9746, ATTN: Antoinette Collins) a signed DD-2345, Military Critical Technical Data Agreement, by 30 May 2008. One-on-one sessions will be available from 0800 to 1200 on 6 June 2008. These sessions will be limited to 20 minutes in duration and will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. All questions related to conference attendance/registration and scheduling of one-on-one sessions may be addressed to Antoinette Collins, antoinette.collins@wpafb.af.mil. Questions of a contractual nature may be addressed to one of the following individuals: Traci Schafer, Contracting Officer, traci.schafer@wpafb.af.mil (Primary) Kris Croake, Contracting Officer, kristina.croake@wpafb.af.mil (Alternate) This Industry Day, open to any and all DoD Contractors, is for informational purposes only. Participation is totally voluntary; attendance is limited to no more than two individuals per company due to space limitations. Potential attendees should be aware that the industry day event and one-on-one sessions are NOT opportunities for attendees to present potential proposal strategies or general company-based presentations. The Government will not reimburse the attendees for any costs associated with participation, nor is the Government under obligation to award any contractual instrument associated with this event. It should be noted that the Government will not be requesting or accepting comments to the draft Statement of Objectives (SOO) document other than those comments which may be provided during the industry event.
