Description
Sources Sought M249 Machine Gun Contracting Office Address: Joint Munitions and Lethality, Life Cycle Management Command (JM&L, LCMC) Acquisition Center, Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey 07806-5000. Description: This notice is a Sources Sought announcement. There is no solicitation available at this time. The JM&L,LCMC in support of the Project Manager Soldier Weapons, is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources forfabrication and delivery of 5.56MM M249 Squad AutomaticWeapons (Government Technical Data Package Part Number 9348199). The M249 Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW) is to be manufactured, inspected, assembled, packaged and shipped in accordance with the Government TDP and tested in accordance with the M249 Weapon Specification. The M249 SAW is a gas-operated, linked ammunition belt fed, 5.56MM machine gun capable of being fired from either the bipod or mounted on a tripod/ground mount or vehicle mount to provide sustained accurate fire in support of infantry operations. This notice is to determine if there are sources capable of manufacturing the M249 Weapon for an approximate total quantity of 19,800 M249 weapons with five (5) ordering periods. The contract shall require the successful completion of a First Article sample test, and ongoing lot acceptance tests. The First Article sample shall be required to be submitted to the Government 180 days after contract award. Monthly production deliveries shall commence within 75 days after USG approval of the First Article. Production deliveries are to be ramped up to a quantity of 750 weapons per month. Should an RFP be issued for this action, award will be made on a best value basis under full and open competition. All responsible, interested offerors are encouraged to submit their capabilities/qualification data and any pertinent information in hard copy or via email, within 15 calender days to: Joint Munitions and Lethality Life Cycle Management Command, (JM&L LCMC), Acquisition Center, AMSML-AQ-SW, Bldg 10, Attn: Ronald Ryder, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. NO TELEPHONE INQUIRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. The Government will accept written questions by email to ronald.ryder@us.army.mil. Any information provided will not be returned. This is a sources sought notice only and should not be construed as a Request for Proposal or a commitment by the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published and more detailed technical requirements will be provided.
