Description
This solicitation announcement is to notify interested parties of the FAA's intentions to procure the following Construction Services under Full and Open Competition. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237110, with a size standard of $31M. The project construction site encompasses sections of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) William J. Hughes Technical Center (facility) at the Atlantic City International Airport in New Jersey. The site is known as the Recharge Bed area. The site is part of the ongoing CERCLA Superfund remediation at the FAA facility. Construction at the site will consist of the excavation and construction of the Recharge Bed, conveyance piping, and controls; installation of monitoring wells; and the expansion of the existing Area B sprinkler system. The Recharge Bed will consist of a distribution piping system within a coarse sand layer constructed approximately 15 to 20 feet below grade. Once the Recharge Bed is constructed, the excavated areas will be completely backfilled with native materials and the site will be re-vegetated. Construction work shall include all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to construct the Recharge Bed. Estimated price range for this project is between $3,000,000.00 to $3,800,000.00. Bid Bond shall be 20% of proposal. A Firm-Fixed Price contract is contemplated. Performance Bonds (100%), and Payment Bonds (50%) of contract price are required after notification of award. Overall period of performance is 183 days from notice to proceed. Offeror's are required to attend a mandatory site visit to inspect the site where the work will be performed. The site visit has been scheduled for 05 June 2008; at 9:00 a.m., Participants will meet at the William J. Hughes Technical Center Security Operations Center, Atlantic City International Airport, New Jersey, 08405. Please notify the Contracting Officer by 2 PM EST, 28 May 2008, if your company intents to participate and attend the mandatory site visit. Security issues preclude the need for the FAA to be informed prior to contractor(s) arrival for badge and escorting requirements. Drawings will be handed out to site visit members only. Proposals will only be accepted from site visit attendees. All questions must be in writing (email) and submitted by 2 PM EST, 16 June 2008. All proposals are due by 2 PM EST, 19 June 2008.
