Description
NAICS Code: 334516 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to negotiate a sole source purchase order under Simplified Acquisition Procedures to Applied Biosystems 850 Lincoln Centre Drive, Foster City, CA 94404, for the acquisition of a 1-year performance (maintenanceservice) agreement for a Applied Biosystems API4000 LC/MS/MS. Applied Biosystems is the manufacturer and sole distrbutor of equipment and the only company that can provide a one year maintenance service on equipment and has the necessary parts and skilled labor to maintain therefore the only vendor that can provide a 1 year maintenance agreement.. In order to ensure correct instrument operation, the circumstance permitting is FAR 13.106(b) "only one source reasonably available". The intent of this notice is to determine if any other source(s) exist and therefore, no solicitation (RFQ) is available. Consequently, any response failing to demonstrate contractor's ability to provide maintenance of the instrument and instead choosing to merely submit a routine letter requesting a copy of the RFQ will be ignored. The information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. Interested parties may submit written qualification statements, fully explaining their capability, no later than 10 days after the date of this publication.
