- Description
- The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Weather Service, Honolulu Forecast Office has a requirement for the acquisition and installation of 18 ALERT rain gauges and 6 ALERT repeaters to replace a subset of existing Hydronet sites on the islands of Oahu, Maui, and Hawaii. In addition, NOAA-NWS requires 2 ready to install spare Automated Local Evaluation in Real Time (ALERT) repeaters and 3 ready to install ALERT rain gauges to minimize outage times in the event of a serious repeater or gauge failure that cannot be easily corrected in the field. NOAA-NWS also requires the acquisition and installation of a base station with data communication and management hardware and software at WFO Honolulu located at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Prior to initial operational capability (IOC), the vendor will provide initial training to NOAA-NWS technicians and staff on the maintenance of hardware and software components of the AFWS. Contractor is required to furnish all necessary personnel, material, equipment, services and facilities (except as otherwise specified) for the contract. The proposed contract is 100% set-aside for small business concerns. The NAICS code for this procurement is 334519 and the size standard is 500 employees. Solicitation documents will be made available for download on or about May 20, 2008. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be issued. Upon release of the solicitation to the FBO for download, vendors who have registered to receive notification should receive an email from the FBO indicating its availability. The estimated response due date is June 19, 2008; however, the actual date offers are due will be stated within the solicitation documents.
