The Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is conducting a market survey to obtain information on responsible sources that are in the 8(a) Program as defined by FAR Part 19.8, firms that hold General Services Administration (GSA) schedules, and small businesses who have the capability to provide Corrosion Service Team (CST) support services. MARCORSYSCOM has a potential requirement for CST support services. CST support services will be performed on Marine Corps ground combat and support equipment in an attempt to extend the useful service life of these assets to include reducing maintenance requirements due to corrosion damage; and will entail the following: (1) performing surface preparation and touch-up coating procedures; (2) applying corrosion inhibiting products while ensuring compliance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), State and Local laws and regulations and Marine Corps policy/procedures; (3) documenting and reporting of products and materials used on equipment applications; (4) assuring the quality of product and coating applications; and (5) conducting corrosion assessments to identify the Corrosion Category Code of all assets. The support services shall be performed primarily at the following Marine Corps Installations: I Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF), II MEF, III MEF and Marine Force Reserve locations within Continental United States (CONUS). The U.S. Marine Corps will use the results of this announcement to determine what capabilities exist in the marketplace. MARCORSYSCOM will not pay or provide reimbursement for any costs incurred in the preparation or delivery of the request for information. Interested firms are requested to submit a response in a Microsoft Office compatible format, not to exceed 10 pages, outlining their ability to meet or exceed the requirements identified above by no later than 2:00 PM EDT, 5 May 2008. Firms should also include their business size/type, GSA contract number, if applicable. Only electronic submissions will be accepted.
