- This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. This is a combined synopsis and solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Request For Quotation (RFQ) number is N66604-08-Q-2912. Incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2000-07. This is unrestricted. NUWC Division Newport intends to purchase the following items on a sole source basis from Tyco Electronics: (1) Thirty nine (39) each of Shell P/N MTCST-YH1-R03, Alt. Part Number A70267-000; (2) Ten (10) each of Shell MTCST-YH2-R03, Alt. Part Number F47174-000; (3) Twenty five (25) each of Insert P/N MTCP-122-20P2, Alt. Part Number 637411-000; (4) Thirty (30) each of Insert P/N MTCP-122-20P, Alt. Part Number 953371-000; (5) Fifty seven (57) each Shell, P/N MTCST-YH1-P03, Alt. Part Number 148032-000; (6) Forty (40) each of Insert P/N MTCP-116-05S1, Alt. Part Number 180481-000; (7) Twenty five (25) each Insert P/N MTCP-122-20S2, Alt. Part Number 253627-000; (8) Nineteen (19) each Shell P/N MTCST-HY2-P03, Alt. Part Number C02560-000; (9) Forty (40) each of Insert P/N MTCP-122-20s, Alt. Part Number 494203-000; (10) Thirty four (34) each Insert P/N MTCP-116-05P1, Alt. Part Number 821387-000; (11) Two hundred eighty (280) Pin, P/N CTA-0079, Alt. Part Number 849284-00; (12) One hundred (100) Socket, P/N CTA-0078, Alt. Part Number 800383-000. Required delivery is 150 days after award, F.O.B. Destination Naval Station Newport; Newport, RI. The basis for the sole source is compatibility with existing Tyco hardware. The use of another company to supply these components would incur the additional expenses of customization/development, testing, and Mil Spec certification in order to meet mission critical requirements. All other timely offers will be considered. Offers for other products must contain complete product information and prices. FAR 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors--Commercial Items applies. Evaluation will be in accordance with FAR 52.212-2 Evaluation--Commercial Items. Evaluation factors are technical capability, price and past performance. Each is equally important. FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions--Commercial Items and 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders--Commercial Items, and DFARS 52.212-7001, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders Applicable to Defense Acquisitions of Commercial Items apply.
