Description
The Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest intends to award a contract for the furnishing, unloading and delivery of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) bell and spigot culverts. The solicitation number is R6-MBS-8-33. The procurement is considered to be a Commercial Item and is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 12 and 13. The North American Industry Classification System code is 326122 with a corresponding size standard of 500 employees. Upon delivery of the culvert and signed certification payment can be made for the purchase either by Government credit card or by Purchase Order. The final quantity of culverts purchased may vary slightly based on prices quoted and dollars available. As a Federal Agency we do not pay State of local sales tax. MATERIAL PROPERTIES: Virgin material for pipe shall be high density polyethylene conforming with the minimum requirements of cell classification 435400C (as described in the latest version of ASTM D3350, except that carbon black content should not exceed 5%). PIPE REQUIREMENTS: 12"-60" Pipe shall meet the requirements of AASHTO M294, Type S or ASTM F2306. JOINT REQUIREMENTS: 12"-60” Pipe shall be joined using bell & spigot meeting AASHTO M252, AASHTO m294 or ASTM F2306. The joint shall be soil tight and gaskets, when applicable, shall meet the requirements of ASTM F477. Pipe shall be in 20 ft sections The required delivery date for pipe is approximately May 27, 2008. Pipe sections are to be delivered and unloaded banded together in appropriate bundles. The contractor is responsible for the delivery of the pipe to the old Forest Service Ranger Station compound, located just off Highway 20 mile post 84.5. Contractor shall be responsible for unloading of pipe sections and responsible for the equipment needed unload A forklift or backhoe with fork extensions will be required for unloading and placement. The unloading area dimensions are 150 ft by 80 ft and consist of asphalt and leveled aggregate surfacing. Signed certification shall be required upon delivery.
