Description
This for information purpose only. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award, on a sole source basis, a purchase order to Titertek Instruments Inc, 330 Wynn Drive, Huntsville, AL 35805. The authority for this sole source procurement is FAR 13.106-1 and FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirement. The Division of Laboratory Sciences (DLS), Newborn Screening Quality Assurance Program produces more than 1.3 million dried blood spots per year. DLS is the only program in the world to make, characterize, and distribute the dried blood spot materials to almost 500 laboratories world wide. The laboratory uses the Titertek Digiflex instruments to dispense blood spots used by the public health laboratories for quality assurance of newborn screening tests. This is a unique application found only in the Division of Laboratory Sciences. The laboratory has a customized robotics system from Titertek Instruments. The robot uses the same dispensing instuments. Some of the extra parts ordered are interchangeable between the stand-alone instruments and the instruments on the robot. The Titertek Digiflex CX include the Digiflex CX base with 2 each.50 and.75 delivery tips, 2000 ml dispense and sample syringe, dispense and sample syringe blocks, tip holder, reagent caddy and foot switch. Other equipment has not been validated for application. Firms that believe they can provide these services are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 10 days of the publication date of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining to conduct a competitive procurement. Inquires may be sent to Thaddeus Rollins by e-mail at tnr6@cdc.gov or by fax to 770-488-2670.
