Description

The contractor shall perform Backfit and ERO Planning activities supporting the Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) and Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS). This includes technical services in support of FCS Backfit activity as well as development and definition of work items for inclusion in OD 64757, SSP Work Planning Document for OHIO Class Engineered Refueling Overhauls, updating the TRIDENT II Engineered Refueling Overhaul Technical Plan for SP23 Cognizant Equipment for applicability to West Coast ERO at PSNS, update the Shipyard Integrated Test Program (SITP) and support East and West Coast Execution Planning Meetings (EEPM/WEPM) at NNSY and PSNS, in accordance with SSPINST 4710.23, Planning Policy for OHIO Class SSBN Engineered Refueling Overhaul and SSPINST 4710.24, Guidelines for OHIO Class SSBN Engineered Refueling Overhaul. Negotiations will be conducted with General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems (GDAIS), Pittsfield, MA. GDAIS is the sole manufacturer of the TRIDENT (II) D5 Strategic Weapon System (SWS) Fire Control System and Attack Weapons Control System and the only source with the in-depth knowledge, expertise, and in-place capability to perform the required effort.
