- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District, intends to award a firm fixed price contract for the procurement of one newly constructed steel Floating Crane barge for service on the Kanawa River and its tributaries in support of lock and dam maintenance efforts for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District. The approximate dimensions of the vessel are 70 feet in length, 35 feet in beam, and 6 feet depth at side. The approximate capacity of the pedestal mounted crane shall be 40 60 tons. The vessel will be designed and built in accordance with American Bureau of Shipping rules for Steel Vessels on Rivers and Intracoastal Waterways, and U.S. Coat Guard and other marine construction regulatory standards. However, the vessel will not be classed by any regulatory agency. Testing will be required and must be performed in open water prior to delivery. The acquisition will be solicited using the Sealed Bid procurement process prescribed in Part 14 of the Federal AcquisitionRegulations. The Solicitation Number W912BU-08-B-0012 will be issued on or about 1 May 2008 with a closing date of on or about 2 June 2008 at 1330 hours. The total performance period for this procurement will be 425 calendar days (Phase I Engineering and Scheduling - 60 days, Phase II Construction 365 days), from receipt of Notice to Proceed (NTP). A bid guarantee and performance and payment bonds will be required and liquidated damages will apply. Firms who receive a federal contract in excess of $25,000.00 are required by legislation to submit an annual VETS-100 Report on your employment of targeted veterans. Information on submitting your report may be obtained by calling 703-561-2460 or by accessing the following internet web site: https://vets100.vets.dol.gov. Prospective bidders interested in receiving a solicitation must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration Database. Central contractor registration information can be obtained by calling (888) 227-2423 or via the Internet at http://www.ccr.gov as required by DFARS 204.7300. Instructions will be included in the solicitation. All bids are to be delivered to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District, Wanamaker Building, Room 643, 100 Penn Square East, Philadelphia, PA 19107-3390, Attn: Ms. Adriana A. Dunaway.
