- Description
- The Library of Congress Preservation re-formatting program replaces paper-based materials which are at risk of loss of content with microforms. These microforms may be created by the Library from its material or acquired from external sources. Approximately 6,000 microfilm reels and 10,000 microfiche sheets are produced annually for the Library’s preservation reformatting program. Microfiche and microfilmed materials may include newspapers, periodicals, monographs, manuscripts, typescripts, photographs, posters, scrapbooks, sheet music, pamphlets and other ephemera, official gazettes, technical reports, and government publications. Materials are in all languages and scripts. The maximum projected cost of the contract is calculated on the basis of a 20% sampling of items produced annually. A routine sampling is projected at a level considerably less than 20%. All interest parties are to submit all questions by April 21, 2008 with a response date posted April 23, 2008.
