Description
NASA/DFRC has a requirement for acontractor that provides labor, equipment and facilities to test theenvironment of the DFI hardware. The specifications are: Introduction Environmental testing service provides the environmental testing of theDFI hardware. This service specifies the type of environmental testingperformed at the vendor facilities: pyrotechnic shock test and impactlanding shock. Pyrotechnic Shock is the transient motion of structuralelements, assemblies, subsystems, or systems due to explosive loadinginduced by the detonation of ordnance devices incorporated into orattached to the structure. Testing methods will use shaker simulated andtrue ordnance methods. Scope The test articles for this service consist of the following: CDAU2020/RDAU#1, RDAU#2, RDAU#8, RDAU#3, RDAU#4, RDAU#6, S-bandTransmitter, C-band Transponder, Flight Data Recorder, Video Splitter,DFI PDU, Film camera, NTSC video camera, Current sensor, ESP transducerand TABER transducer. Reports and Records The contractor shall keep detailed records of all service work andprovide a full test report following the completion of the taskperformed on said test articles. These records shall identify each itemby model number and serial number. A copy of these records shall beprovided to the Government. This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial itemsprepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, assupplemented with additional information included in this notice. Thisannouncement constitutes the only solicitation, which is issued as aRequest for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and a writtensolicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to use theOn-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system islinked above or it may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=. Theinformation required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13. Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing(e-mail is preferred) no later than April 19, 2008. It is the quoter'sresponsibility to monitor this site for the release of amendments (ifany). Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their owncopy of this notice, the on-line RFQ and amendments (if any). An ombudsman has been appointed - See NASA Specific Note "B".
