- Description
- The end date of this soliciation has been extended to 16 April 08. We have the following questions concerning Sol: F3ZT908031A001 for the Blast Room Retrofit In 1.0 the blast room retrofit it is described for a plastic media blaster booth However, in 1.5 it says that the classifier is for ferrous and non-ferrous dry abrasives We use Type V Plastic Media 30/40 grit, this is used on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. 1. - What is the blast media to be used and what size is needed? Is this the only media to be used? We use Type V Plastic Media 30/40 grit. 2. - Are you aware that mechanical and air wash separators are the least efficient reclaim method for high priced plastic blast media? This type of reclaim system is best for ferrous media or large size hard abrasive grains. The mechanical floor system will fulfill all the needs of our shop and will meet all regulatory requirements. 3. - Is the contracting office aware of the limitations of the mechanical/air wash separation systems and their higher consumption rate? The mechanical floor system will fulfill all the needs of our shop and will meet all regulatory requirements 4. - There is no provision made to get heavy fines out via magnetic separation or vibration screens or a combination of both. Does this mean you don't want this capability or does it mean that Contracting does not feel this is needed? The mechanical floor system will fulfill all the needs of our shop and will meet all regulatory requirements 5. - Is a site visit scheduled for competitive bidders or has this solicitation been written around an existing vendor who has already seen the site and has their quote ready? The booth is a standard size and construction; therefore a site visit should not be necessary to provide an adequate quote for a raised floor and a new reclamation assembly. 6. - Is an extension to the submittable date going to be given so a site visit can be done and so these questions can be answered prior to the quotation being submitted? The booth is a standard size and construction; therefore a site visit should not be necessary to provide an adequate quote for a raised floor and a new reclamation assembly. 7. -Will the end user be willing to except a pneumatic recovery floor vs a mechanical sweep floor? I want to offer a mechanical floor, as well as pneumatic. We will accept bids for pneumatic assemblies as well as mechanical floors. 8. -Also who is the manufacture of the existing Blast Room and related equipment? I believe that we (Pauli Systems, Inc) are, the manufacturer but I could be confused by other equipment we have at Travis AFB. Yes, the manufacturer of the original booth is Pauli Systems, Inc. 9. Can we use a pneumatic floor instead of mechanical one? We will accept bids for pneumatic assemblies as well as mechanical floors. 10. What are the dimensions of the floor? The floor dimensions are 20’ 9” X 15’ 8” Vendors must be actively registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR). The CCR website is http://www.ccr.gov and also under the Online Representations and Certification (ORCA) on https://orca.bpn.gov. Contractors are asked to submit their TAX ID number with their proposal. Quotes must be received at the 60th Contracting Squadron, LGCB flight, no later that 3:00 PM PST on 16 April 2008. Quotes may be transmitted by e-mail or to FAX number (707) 424-5189.
