Description
1. Request for Price and Availability of the nonstandard ammunition listed below for the Afghanistan National Army and Afghanistan National Police. This is a request for information only and does not obligate the government in any way. The unit pri ces requested are for planning purposes only and will not bind the contractor. Request you provide a unit price for any or all of the listed ammunition and the estimated date of availability. If incremental quantities are available, include this informat ion in your response. Materiel shall be from new production or new surplus manufactured within last 20 years and serviceable without qualifications. 2. FOB will be destination to Kabul, Afghanistan. Transportation of the ammo to Kabul will b e via air only. 3. Following is a list of the required ammunition and associated weapon system. Specific requirements regarding the quality of the ammunition delivered under any resu ltant contract will be specified in the Request for Proposal. 5. Packaging. Contractor is responsible to ensure packaging of hazardous materiel is in compliance with the Performance Oriented Packaging requirements of CFR Title 49, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) technical instructions, or the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG), all of which comply with the United Nations (UN) Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods. All exterior containers will be ma rked and labeled in accordance with the above applicable requirements for the modes of transportation by which the materiel will be shipped. The manufacturer is responsible for the applicable Performance Oriented Packaging test requirements and will retai n the documentation attesting to the data resulting from these tests. Materiel will not be supplied in a combination of paper interior packaging and fiberboard exterior packaging. If interior packaging is paper, exterior packaging must be metal con tainer or wood box. If interior packaging is metal container, exterior fiberboard packaging is allowable. Each package will contain the same type of ammo. Materiel shall be free of dirt and other contaminants which would contribute to the deterior ation of the item or which would require cleaning by customer prior to use. Palletization. Pallets will be designed for transportation of ammunition and constructed to hold the weight of its load. Loaded pallets are not to exceed 4000 pounds or 44 inches long by 54 inches high. Pallets will be secured with metal straps, not plastic. All pallets will be standardized  same type of ammo with same number o f rounds on each pallet. 6.
