- This request for information (RFI) is for planning purposes only and shall not be considered as an invitation for bid, request for quotation, request for proposal, or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services. Your response to this RFI will be treated as information only. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of contractor submission of responses to this announcement or the Government use of s uch information. This request does not constitute a solicitation for proposals or the authority to enter into negotiations to award a contract. No funds have been authorized, appropriated, or received for this effort. The information provided may be used by the Army in developing its acquisition strategy and statement of work/statement of objectives and performance specifications. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary or competition sensitive information contained in their response. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or to otherwise pay for the information submitted in response to this RFI. The Government is conducting market research to determine the status, price, availab ility and delivery schedule for the following notional quantities of foreign used rockets and fuzes: 120 each Russian Model S-5KP (57 mm Heat-Frag); 100 each Russian Model S-8KO (80 mm Heat); 350 each Chinese Model 63-2 (107 mm); 650 each Russian Model 9MM220 (122 mm); 200 each various countries Model M3 (127 mm); 22 each Russian Model V-5K (fuze 57/80 mm); 350 each Chinese Model MJ1 (fuze 107 mm); 650 each Russian Model MRV-U (fuze 122 mm); and 200 each various countries Model M20C1 (fuze 127 mm). <BR > Desired delivery of the notional quantities identified above is immediately upon from receipt of an order for same. If unable to meet this notional schedule please provide the most probable delivery schedule to include any production ramp up data. Ad ditionally, the government is primarily interested in the rocket and fuze types listed above, however, suitable foreign product substitutes may be considered if supported by the following documentation: complete rocket specifications to include at a mini mum: complete rocket length, warhead length specifying whether fuzed or unfuzed, warhead mass, rocket motor length, rocket motor mass, rocket burn time, burnout velocity, and fin configuration. Interested sources are requested to provide complete descriptions of existing products or those that will be available for delivery within the timeframes indicated above. Industry responses must include sufficient documentation to support any claims that their system performance will meet the minimum perfor mance capabilities of the models identified herein. Such documentation may include system technical specifications, product brochures and related literature, performance test data, system drawings and/or photographs, or any other data to support the state of system development and or production readiness. Additionally, responses to this RFI should include: 1. Corporate capabilities, past and current relevant performance information, available facilities and assets 2. A Rough Order of Magnitude unit cost estimate to meet or exceed the notional requirements outlined above. 3. A supporting delivery schedule that represents a low risk approach to meeting the objectives outlined above. 4. Name, telephone number, fax number, street address and e-mail address for Program, Technical and Cost points of contact information. Responses to this RFI are due by 2:00pm on 9 April 2008. Responses should not exceed 40 pages in length and must be unclassified.
