Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial requirements prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the ONLY solicitation; a written solicitation will NOT be issued. This simplified acquisition procurement is also being accomplished in accordance with FAR Part 6.302- 1. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Southern AZ VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS), Clinical Care Support Line, Hemodialysis, 3601 S. 6th Avenue Tucson, Arizona intends to negotiate a sole-source procurement for the preventive maintenance and intervening services of a Siemens Water Technologies purification system (reverse osmosis systems, class II medical equipment) for the period April 20, 2008 through April 19, 2009 with the government having the option to extend the contract for four (4) one (1) year options. All work will be performed at the Southern AZ VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS), Dialysis Area, Room 122A, Bldg. 57, 3601 S. 6th Ave., Tucson, AZ 85723 with Siemens Water Technologies of 10 Technology Drive, Lowell, MA 01851-2728. Service will include inspection services, replacement services, water analysis, calibration of monitoring equipment and optional services includes phone support, response time 24 hours a day, seven (7) days a week. Phone responses will be returned within 45 minutes and on site within four (4) hours for all equipment malfunctions. Price of contract shall include all travel, labor and preventive maintenance parts. All other parts will be discounted. The equipment covered under this service includes: Raw Water Booster Pump Components (Grundfors model CRN 5-5), Cartridge Filter(Ametek Big Blue 20"), Water Softener (KFZSSO21FXZFBX), (2)Activated Carbon Filter (KFZCS024FXZFBX), Reverse Osmosis System (MedRO MRORX08AX), Ultraviolet 254nm Lights (Aquafine MP-2-SL), 250 gallon Terrapure PE tank, RO Permeate Water Transfer Pump Components (Grundfors CRN 3-7), Final Filters Components, Main Control Panel, (2)Acid Storage Tank Components, Acid Transfer Pump Components. The applicable NAICS for this requirement is 333999, size standard is 500 employees. The Government will award an Indefinite Delivery Contract, Requirements type contract resulting from this solicitation. The Contractor shall provide a complete copy of the Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items (FAR 52.212-3 NOV 2007) with its offer or complete the annual representations and certifications electronically at http://orca.bpn.gov. Many of the provisions and clauses cited in this solicitation are incorporated by reference, FAR 52.252-2 (FEB 1998), to the appropriate section of the FAR and VAAR. Any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer by April 4, 2008, 7:00 PM, EST. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Responses received will be evaluated; however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
