- Description: The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN), Charleston, Code 56410 (Advanced Technology Branch), is seeking information on Commercial Off The Shelf Wireless Perimeter Intrusion Detection Sensors (PIDS) that can be used by security forces to assist in the protection of critical assets and personnel at nuclear and Department of Defense (DoD) facilities. Responses to this request should describe how the PIDS would be suitable for operating in a secure wireless network. The target audience for this information is the DoD and nuclear physical security community and all submittals should be suited to their specific needs. Review of this information is being performed for the DoD Physical Security Equipment Action Group (PSEAG). The PSEAG established the Wireless Communications Working Group (WCWG) to conduct comparative assessments of specific physical security technologies suitability for secure wireless network operations. All information received will be treated as public knowledge and may be used in WCWG documentation; therefore, vendors should not submit proprietary information in response to this RFI. Specific information sought includes: 1. Company information, including name, address, URL, revenue, and number of employees. 2. Whether the company is a manufacturer or distributor. 3. A point of contact for follow-up information, and the point of contact???s phone number and e-mail address. 4. Product name and features/description. 5. Cost information such as purchase price and General Services Administration (GSA) schedule information. 6. Technical areas of consideration includes Wireless Communication Supervision and Cost of Deployment. The submitted information will be evaluated for inclusion in WCWG projects and reports. Determination as to an individual product???s suitability will be made by SPAWARSYSCEN Charleston based on the objectives of this request. Vendors may be contacted following submission for more detailed product information. Vendor provided information may be reformatted for publication in WCWG documents. Submittals: Respondents are required to complete the attached product summary questionnaire (Perimeter_Intrusion_Detection_Sensors_Form.pdf) for each product and return by e-mail to michael.w.masters@navy.mil by 4:00 pm EST on 12 March, 2008. This RFI is for information gathering and planning purposes only, and should not be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP) or solicitation of an offer. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for the information solicited.
