Description
This is a Sole Source requirement to EADS North America Defense Company, 1616 North Ft Myer Dr, Suite 1500, Arlington, VA 22209-3100. The Government has an urgent need to enhance the resistance of the UH-72A engines to the extreme dust and sand env ironmental conditions experienced in the deserts of the southwest and the sand associated with operations in the coastal southern regions of the United States. These types of operation conditions were specifically excluded in the general Contractor Logist ics Support (CLS) environments as part of normal flight conducted in accordance with (IAW) OEM maintenance publications. Integration of the EIBF into the UH-72A will eliminate the CLS exclusion. The Government requires the retrofit of sixteen (16) fielde d UH-72A aircraft with the EIBF Kit modification. The EIBF Kit consists of a filter element (one per engine), an electrically actuated by-pass door, and modification to the intake cowling on each engine. The Contractor shall provide maintenance and techn ical support in the retrofit of the EIBF Kit modification for sixteen (16) aircraft. The Contractor shall install the EIBF Kit retrofit in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) process es and procedures. The Contractor shall provide a return to service statement certifying the aircraft is fully mission capable (FMC) post retrofit. POC: Lisa Armes, Contract Specialist, at 256-955-8761 or Bridgett Helem, Contracting Officer at 256-876-5 610.
